Fuel Optimization Devices

We provide sales and service for Aquametro fuel optimization devices.

Diesel Switch

As of 1 January 2015, IMO Marpol Annex VI requires the switching from heavy fuel oil (HFO) to distillate diesel fuels of less than 0.1% sulphur content (MDO / MGO) when entering an emission control area (ECA) zone.

Because switching fuels too rapidly can cause thermal changes and stress the fuel injection system, thus leading to a possible dangerous loss of engine power, traditional fuel-switching has been controlled by class rules and took as long as six hours.

With AQUAMETRO's alarm-controlled diesel switch, the change-over can take as little as 1.5 hours.

Aquametro is fully compliant with class rules and engine manufacturer specifications.

And, with remote monitoring, onshore fleet managers can supervise the fuel-switching of just one vessel or the entire fleet. Or the entire procedure can be operated on-board without remote monitoring.

Aquametro increases the amount of burnable fuel, while preventing thermal damage of the engine, and lowering NOx emissions and particulates in exhaust gases.

Aquametro's fuel treatment systems include fuel management changeover, STU-sludge treatment, fuel treatment, and WFE-water in fuel emulsion.

Homogenizer

The homogenizer is dynamic milling machine and it mainly consists of a specially constructed stator / rotor-milling gear to improve the fuel quality as well as to allow sludge treatment on board sea-going vessels.

It operates on the principles of mechanical shearing and utilizes a special conical shaped milling gear, to generate high hydrodynamic power consisting of shearing, friction and acceleration forces with pressure waves of high frequency. The molecular asphaltenes are reduced in their size to below 5 ym and homogenized into the heavy fuel oil.

Aquametro offers Homogenizers with a capacity from 3 to 25 m3 / hr.
